Covid-19: Portugal records another death and 320 confirmed cases – News

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 57,768 (plus 320) confirmed cases of infection and 1,819 (plus one) deaths.

There are 41,885 cases of recovered patients registered, 119 more than yesterday.

The only death occurred in the North, which now has 849 deaths and 20,776 confirmed cases of contagion (162 more than yesterday).

In the last 24 hours, the number of patients admitted to hospitals is 341 (17 more). There are 41 people in the intensive care unit (plus one).

In the central region, 20 more cases were registered, a total of 4,800, with 253 deaths.

In the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, the total number of infections today is 29,784 (plus 121), with 663 deaths.

The Alentejo registered 11 more infections, for a total of 937, and accounted for 22 deaths, while the Algarve, with 1,105 infections, registered six new cases in the last 24 hours. In this region, covid-19 caused 17 deaths.

The Azores and Madeira have not registered any cases of infection or death since Saturday, and the Azores region maintains 209 infections and 15 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. In Madeira, 157 cases of covid-19 are registered.

According to the DGS, 34,258 patients are currently under surveillance, plus 293.

Of the total deaths, 916 were men and 903 women.

The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed at least 843,000 deaths and infected more than 25 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
