The outbreak in the house of the São Cosme Parish and Social Center, in Famalicão, has 43 infected, 26 of which are users and the remaining 17 employees, reports O MINHO from ARS-Norte.
In response to the questions posed by our newspaper, ARS-Norte explains that “on August 31, the ACES Famalicão Health Authority learned of a positive case of COVID-19 in a resident of the Residential Structure for the Elderly (ERPI) of the Social and Parish Center of São Cosme, having initiated the procedures inherent to the Public Health intervention, recommended in the Technical Guidelines of the General Health Directorate, in the field of intervention for the prevention and control of COVID-19, to namely, epidemiological investigation, with identification of contacts, evaluation of the risk of exposure and determination of the necessary and adequate public health measures, in accordance with the aforementioned evaluation ”.
All users and professionals were tested and 43 positive cases were detected.

“This whole process has been developed, in coordination, by the different entities – Local and Regional Health Authorities, City Council, Braga District Social Security Center, Civil Protection – with those responsible for the institution,” says ARS-Norte.
“The Health Authorities will continue to monitor the evolution of this situation and develop the Public Health measures deemed necessary, in coordination with community entities,” he adds.
