An outbreak of covid-19 was registered in Lar Clube Fénix One, in Magoito, Sintra. There are 15 users and six infected employees. THE TVI24 knows that five old men have died.
The institution says it has already informed the health authorities. The outbreak was detected on September 3 and the following day tests were carried out on a total of 77 people (40 workers and 37 users).
So far, three elderly people have been admitted to the Amadora-Sintra Hospital.
At home, the infected elderly are confined to one of the wings of the facility and none show symptoms, except for two with mild symptoms. The infected employees are at home.
Visits are suspended, he confirmed to TVI24 Manuel Azenha, one of the directors.
The house is undergoing internal and external disinfection this Tuesday, but the Sintra City Council had also carried out another a few days ago, in order to keep the situation under control.
New tests will be carried out next Friday.
