The number of new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased in 43 counties in the northern region and increased by more than 30% in 12 counties, reveals the latest report from the Northern Regional Health Administration (ARS-N).
According to the document, to which Lusa had access this Friday, of the 43 counties that registered a decrease, between the second and fourth week of November, 17 are in the Porto district.
The bulletin reports on the epidemiological situation in the northern provinces between the first (days 5 to 11) and the fourth week of November (19 to 25).
Among the 17 municipalities with the greatest decrease in new cases of infection in the Porto district, Paços de Ferreira (from 735 to 397 new cases), Penafiel (855 to 539), Amarante (440 to 283) and Felgueiras (675 to 444) .
Of the 18 municipalities in the Porto district, which represents a 22% decrease in new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection –, only Baião did not follow this trend, registering a growth of 17% in new cases.
In the district of Braga, there were seven municipalities that registered a decrease, especially Vizela and Celorico de Basto, with a decrease of 44% and 34%, respectively.
According to the report, the district of Braga was the only one in the North that did not register an increase or decrease in new cases, stabilizing at 0%.
