There were 388 more infections and two deaths from covid-19 -the lowest number of deaths since September 5-, according to the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) published this Tuesday, relative to Monday’s day. There are 39 fewer hospitalizations than the previous day, of which seven were in intensive care units.
The north is the region with the most new cases and deaths have only been registered in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo in the last 24 hours.
In total, since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, 16,845 deaths have been recorded and 821,104 people have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2 (which causes covid-19).
584 patients are admitted to Portuguese hospitals, 39 less than the previous day –, of which 129 are in intensive care units – minus seven.
There are another 1,654 people recovered this Tuesday, for a total of 777,503 recovered since the pandemic began.
So there are 26,756 active cases in Portugal, 1,268 less than the previous day; this number is achieved after subtracting deaths and recoveries from the total number of infections.
Most of the confirmed cases were registered in the North, with 147 more infections, and in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, with 140. The rest is distributed between the Center, with 46 more, the Algarve with four and the Alentejo with three. In the islands, Madeira has 37 more cases and in the autonomous region of the Azores 11 have been detected.
The two deaths registered in the last 24 hours occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region.
