The Government updated this Thursday the map of municipalities considered to be of high risk of transmission of covid-19 in Portugal, continuing to use the criterion of municipalities that have more than 240 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days (criterion used by the Center European Disease Control), this time establishing different criteria.

One hundred and nine municipalities in mainland Portugal remain on the lists of municipalities with extreme or very high risk of infection by the new coronarivus, six less than at the beginning of the month.

According to the list of risk levels released today by the Government, after the Council of Ministers in which the measures to contain the covid-19 pandemic for Christmas and New Year were evaluated and adjusted, there are already 30 municipalities at extreme risk contagion, five less than on December 2 and 79 at very high risk, one more than at the beginning of December.

The number of municipalities considered high risk remains unchanged, 92, while the moderate risk municipalities are now 77, four more than at the beginning of the month.
