The end of last week ended with a negative record in the Bragança district. It was the day with the most new infections since the start of the pandemic, with 63 new cases, 31 of them in the municipality of Vimioso (an outbreak at Carção’s house, which has already killed two people). The previous high was 24, in early September.
This Monday another case was added in Macedo de Cavaleiros. This is a baby, whose parents were already infected.
Thus, the number of active cases in the district of Braganza soared from 117 to 179, according to the daily ULS bulletin, which registered on Monday the two deaths verified since Friday in Carção.
Today’s newsletter highlights the emergence of new cases in several counties.
Vimioso continues to be the most affected municipality, now with 58 cases.
Bragança follows, with 34. In this case, the new cases are related to previous outbreaks. One of the new cases is a young student from the Emídio García group.
Macedo de Cavaleiros also registered an increase of eight new cases, to 26.
Mirandela continues the active Aguieiras outbreak and is now 19 (+3).
In Poiares, in the municipality of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, the outbreak that arose there brought by a neighbor of Greater Lisbon, which was left by the descendants in Intensive Care before returning home, already has six cases.
In Carrazeda there are three (all relatives of the bus driver) and in Vila Flor one.
Vinhais also has another case, now there are eight.
Miranda do Douro has four, related to a restaurant, while Mogadouro went from 11 to 10 cases.
There were also three more imported cases, two of them for Macedo de Cavaleiros de Póvoa de Lanhoso, in Braga. It is about a couple who came to spend their holidays in the Northeast of Transmontano and joins the two imports that were already counted.
Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, 636 cases have already been identified, of which 431 have recovered, 26 have died and 179 are still active.
Right now, there are more than 600 people under surveillance.
