According to the DGS Epidemiological Bulletin today, May 8, there are 16 municipalities in Alentejo with more cases of COVID-19. This bulletin presents only the country’s municipalities with more than three confirmed cases. In total, the region has 232 infected people, 12 more compared to the previous day, day 7.
Only one death remains in the region.
Compared to yesterday’s DGS Report, the municipalities of Alcácer do Sal, Elvas, Évora, Moura, Portalegre, Reguengos de Monsaraz and Vendas Novas registered an increase in cases of COVID-19: Alcácer do Sal has 5 infected people, plus one in relation to the previous day, Elvas registers three new cases, in a total of 8 infected people in that municipality; Évora has 22 cases, 2 more than yesterday;
Moura, the most infected municipality in Alentejo, registered 57 cases, 3 more than the previous day; Portalegre has 5 infected people, one more than yesterday; Reguengos de Monsaraz has two more confirmed cases, they increased to 7 infected people in that municipality; Vendas Novas registers 7 cases of COVID-19, one more than yesterday.
According to today’s DGS Report, Santiago do Cacém and Serpa register 15 cases of infection, Beja has 11 infected cases and Grândola 10 confirmed.
Almodôvar registers 9 cases of COVID-19, Montemor-o-Novo has 7 infected people, Odemira registers 6 infected people and the municipality of Cuba has 3 cases of infection.
Portel has 6 confirmed cases, but the municipality has already said in a note that “the 6 confirmed cases, contained in the daily report of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), are currently fully recovered.”
The epidemiological bulletin presents only the total number of clinical notifications in the SINAVE system, which corresponds to 88% of confirmed cases.
Nationwide, 27,268 cases of infected people were registered, 553 more than yesterday and a total of 1,114 deaths, 9 more deaths compared to the previous day, day 7.
