The number of deaths of patients infected by the new coronavirus rose to 42, on a day in which 44 new cases were registered in the district of Bragança.
The 42nd fatality is a man, in his 80s, born in Edral, in Vinhais.
Today the day brought 44 cases, 34 of them in the municipality of Bragança. A large part refers to users from Santa Casa (15), with at least one more case in the Bragança Chamber, where a new outbreak was identified over the weekend.
There were also two new cases in Mirandela, three in Vila Flor, three in Macedo de Cavaleiros and two in Mogadouro.
There is also evidence of a recovered patient in Macedo de Cavaleiros.
Thus, there are already 1071 active cases since the beginning of the pandemic in the district of Bragança. Of these, there are 470 active cases in northeast Transmontano, with Bragança being by far the most affected municipality, with 329 still active positive cases.
It is followed by Vimioso, who still has 30. Mogadouro has 21, Freixo 20, Macedo de Cavaleiros 19, Mirandela 18.
Moncorvo, Alfândega da Fé and Vinhais have seven cases, Vila Flor six, Carrazeda and Miranda already have only one case each.
There are also reports of three positive imported cases, one from Madrid, one from Ponte de Lima and one from Lisbon.
In total, 562 patients have already been recovered.
