Shoot a number of sites that sell illicit medical products to fight covid-19. Interpol, Europol and PSP warn about the dangers of buying vaccines online.

Just over a week before covid-19 vaccination began in Portugal and Europe, more and more advertisements for counterfeit vaccines for sale on the Internet appear. A study by Checkpoint Research, an international company specializing in cybersecurity and a benchmark in the IT sector recognized even by law enforcement, identified advertisements that promise vaccines for around 300 euros. In a report now released, it also reveals that, in November alone, 1062 domains (which give access to pages that can be consulted) were registered with the word vaccine. The document also draws attention to the phishing campaigns (theft of computer data) sustained in the pandemic.

The danger is so great that Interpol, Europol, and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) have issued warnings about the threats of buying medicines online to treat Covid-19. The Portuguese authorities did not register any fraud related to the coveted vaccine, but Infarmed reinforced the calls of the AME and the PSP warned the population that vaccination will only be carried out through the National Health System (SNS).
