Statements by Sérgio Conceição, FC Porto coach, at the press conference after the victory over Tondela, who deserves to qualify for the second round of the Portuguese Cup:
Fair victory on our part. With several goal situations. We could have left here with another result. We allow less than last week to the opponent. But the victory is undeniable.
[Sobre a defesa] «There were good moments in our offensive dynamics. When we had the ball we were still a large team, with the ability to play on the inside, proof of this is Taremi’s goal, also the combination between Otávio and Marega. These are beautiful moments in the game. Today we improve what was our attack-defense transition. We assume that the opponent could create danger in the transitions. The goal situation (for Tondela) was more caused by me, because I wanted seven players in the area. So we can talk about Manafá running out of time or not, or that Corona has to be in Murillo and he doesn’t. But it was more my fault than the players’ fault. Apart from that, there was no shot on goal in the second half, except for the head situation of the Tondela player in the final. In the second half we had some situations to extend the score. We were not so precise about the situation of the last pass at the entrance of the last third and in one-on-one situations, mainly in the second half. It was a peaceful victory, within what is the 2-1 malaise, but very fair.
