The deputies of the CDS-PP questioned the Government about the possibility of attending cultural shows, during the days of prohibition of circulation between the municipalities of mainland Portugal between zero hours on October 30 and 11:59 p.m. on November 3, while there is a prohibition to honor the dead.

It is about the prohibition of traveling between different municipalities between October 30 and November 3, based on the resolution of Thursday of the Council of Ministers, which seeks to avoid the risks of spreading Covid-19 in agglomerates, motivated by religious rituals of All Saints Day – celebrated on the feast of November 1 – and of the Day of the Dead – evoked on November 2.

In addition, the centrists refer to a news item published by Agência Lusa in which the IGAC Inspector General (Inspector General of Cultural Activities), Luís Silveira Botelho, declares that the trip to access the cultural facilities is within the exceptions of resolution , and that to move around, the title or entry of the show will suffice.

“Given the seriousness of the pandemic crisis currently being experienced in Portugal, given the motivated decision to prevent people from mourning their dead annually in a celebration that covers the entire national territory and that is, from an emotional point of view, Important For many, given the total incongruity in this supposed exemption from travel to attend cultural shows, when family gatherings and gatherings with more than five people in public and commercial places are somewhat limited, the CDS believes that it is extremely important and urgent to obtain clarifications from the Government ”, the deputies send in the question addressed to the Minister of State and Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva.

The centrists want to know if the ban on travel between municipalities really excludes trips to attend cultural shows and, if so, how does the Government justify, on the one hand, the authorization to attend shows and on the other hand “the prohibition of honoring the dead, in cemeteries, in the open air and so important to the Portuguese ”.

The question has the support of the deputies Ana Rita Bessa, Telmo Correia, Cecília Meireles, João Gonçalves Pereira and João Pinho de Almeida.
