Any problem with Magsafe?
It was at the end of last week that users were finally able to test Magsafe on the iPhone 12. This wireless charger has features that allow it to always be correctly connected to the iPhone, the result of the magnets that it has gifts.
What was not expected was that this new wireless charger would have a negative effect on the cases that Apple sells for the iPhone 12. If they are made of leather, they will be marked at the contact points. Apple has already admitted this in one of its supporting documents.
Markings on iPhone 12 cases
These cases are not yet available, but it seems that the problem will not be limited to these. As some users have already shown, the problem can also occur on silicone sleeves, where the Magsafe circle markings are already visible.
Interestingly, and from what can be read in that same Apple document, the problems are not going to be limited to the covers. However, the company has identified other situations that should be avoided when using Magsafe. Credit cards, passports, or electronic keys should not be placed between the charger and iPhone 12.
Apple revealed other problems
Situations such as high temperatures are also identified when using Magsafe. In these cases, and by Apple's decision, the load will be turned off at 80%. Also, if a Magsafe and charger are connected, the latter will be used.
It certainly doesn't seem logical for Apple to force users to remove their iPhone 12 case in order to charge it. One of the added values that he showed in his presentation was the possibility of wearing Magsafe on the lid. After all, this is only possible in some situations and with some covers.
