The pre-hospital care for the three injured was initially carried out by the Portuguese Red Cross (CVP), which, meanwhile, sent a second ambulance to the place, in charge of the Funchal Fire Department, to help and transport one of the victims.
One of the victims had to be immobilized with an extraction vest for trauma victims to be transferred to the hospital, and this adolescent, with a suspected fracture, was admitted to room zero of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital to receive medical assistance.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed from this accident, and the other young woman, who complained of pain in the chest area, was rescued by the Sapadores de Funchal Firefighters, a corporation that also deposited salvage on the road.
The Public Security Police were at the scene and took over the incident, and the damage to the vehicle is severe, as well as the structure that prevented the vehicle from entering a pizza parlor inside.
