Braga beat Olímpico do Montijo 7-0, in a match on the fourth day of the Portuguese Cup, played at the National Stadium in Oeiras, qualifying for the round of 16 of the competition.

Against the Portuguese Championship team, Braga took the lead in the 28th minute, through Abel Ruiz, with Paulinho, two minutes later, extending the lead.

In the second half, Sporting de Braga increased the score with goals from Ricardo Horta (72 minutes), João Novais, from a penalty (77), Tormena (85), Galeno (86) and Iuri Medeiros (90).

With this victory, Braga (I Liga) secured the qualification for the round of 16 of the competition and joined the already classified FC Porto (I), holder of the trophy, Benfica (I Liga), defeated finalist, Sporting (I), Rio Ave (I), Moreirense (I), Santa Clara (I), Academico de Viseu (II), Estoril Praia (II), Fafe (CP), Torreense (CP) and Estrela da Amadora (CP).
