Announcement made by the Minho emblem.
Braga announced this Sunday that Diogo Casimiro, a 22-year-old B team player, was forced to interrupt his career indefinitely due to lymphoma.
“Braga informs that Diogo Casimiro, an athlete who is part of Team B, will interrupt his career indefinitely. The 22-year-old has a cancer problem, after being diagnosed with lymphoma,” Minho began to write the emblem in a statement .
“Braga expresses, from now on, total solidarity with Diogo Casimiro, promising not to measure efforts in this battle that belongs to everyone. Because no Warrior fights alone ”, he concluded.
Born in Oliveira de Azeméis, Diogo Casimiro began his career at UD Oliveirense, but soon moved to FC Porto, a club to which he was linked for nine seasons and completed almost all training.
In his first year as a senior he moved to Freamunde and, in the following season, in 2018/19, he went to Braga, where he has lined up for the U23 and, above all, for the B team.
This season, he participated in eight games for the secondary team Sporting de Braga, the isolated leader of the series A of the Portuguese Championship, seven of them as a starter.
