Good news for Naples. OR Guarantee College, the highest Italian authority in sports judicial matters, revoked the sanction applied by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), and confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, in the match against Juventus, in the 3rd round: defeat due to lack of appearance and penalty of a point.

According to the ruling, which was announced on Tuesday, the Guarantee College considers that the FIGC did not follow the correct procedures and as such supports the use of the Neapolitan emblem. Therefore, the match between Naples and Juventus should really be played and the penalty spot will be returned to all of southern Italy.

It is recalled that the game was originally scheduled for October 4 in Turin. However, a Covid-19 outbreak in the Naples team led the Campania Health Authority to prevent the team from traveling to northern Italy. Juventus continued to take to the field to carry out the usual warm-up exercises, but the referee ended up giving up the game due to lack of appearances and attributed a 3-0 defeat to the Neapolitans.
