The candidacy of Luís Filipe Vieira to the presidency of Benfica announced, this Wednesday, the suspension of all campaign actions planned for the next two weeks, due to the reinforcement of the measures promulgated by the Government in the fight against Covid-19.
“Due to the reinforcement of the measures enacted by the government to combat covid-19, which come into effect at midnight today, and given the increase in cases registered in the last 24 hours, the candidacy of Luís Filipe Vieira, in compliance of the new directives promulgated, decided to suspend all the programmed campaign initiatives. Everyone’s safety comes first and, taking into account the high number of partners who have spontaneously participated in our initiatives as well as the many who have already signed up for future initiatives, it is not possible to keep planned campaign actions without question. the measures imposed by the executive ”, justifies Vieira’s candidacy.
Thus, all the actions “planned for the next two weeks will be reconsidered and rescheduled, that is, giving priority to the use of digital tools in contact with Sport Lisboa e Benfica partners.”
“No mobile phone call, videoconference or social network can replace the privilege of direct contact with associates, as evidenced by the extraordinary expressions of support we receive throughout the country, in the more than 4,000 kilometers already traveled. But the moment demands of all a responsible attitude, which puts the general welfare before any other particular interest ”, he emphasizes.
