The European Handball Federation (EHF) announced on Friday the verdict on the matches that were postponed in the group stage of European competitions. Since the matches were not contested, the EHF Executive Committee decided to attribute the administrative victories to the various teams, based on the reasons that led to the postponement of the match.

FC Porto and Sporting ended up benefiting from this decision. The Dragons had their match against the Germans in Flesnburg-Handewitt (Champions League Group A) postponed due to restrictions imposed by the Angela Merkel government, and the EHF attributed a 10-0 win to the Blue and Whites. For the same reason, Sporting cannot host Füchse Berlin (European League Group B) and was declared the winner, also 10-0.

The EHF also left a note explaining that the postponed match between Meshkov Brest and FC Porto, scheduled for this Wednesday, will be evaluated differently. It is recalled that the dragons were not in play after the cardiopulmonary arrest suffered by Alfredo Quintana on Monday, who would die this Friday.
