BOLA – Benfica beats Sporting and wins the League Cup (Women’s Football)

Benfica beat Sporting 2-1 and won the Women’s Soccer League Cup, in a match played this Wednesday afternoon at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria. The eagles entered the game at full speed and, after 4 minutes, they opened the scoring: Francisca Nazareth shot for the great defense of Inês Pereira and, in the reload, Cloé Lacasse won.

The red game rose in tone shortly after, when Nycole Raysla, from a penalty, increased to 2-0.

However, even in the first half (35 minutes), Beatriz Cameirão was sent off for accumulating yellow cards and Benfica was reduced to ten elements.

Also the result of numerical superiority, Sporting dominated practically the entire complementary stage, but only managed to reduce, through Bruna Costa, in 52 minutes.

With this triumph, Benfica repeats the feat achieved in 2019/2020 – they beat SC Braga, in the final, 3-0 – and took the second League Cup to the Cosme Damião Museum
