The last five finalist songs of the Song Festival were selected this Saturday in the second of two semifinals. They are:
I. Clips, ‘Back-Face’
Joana Alegre, ‘Joana do Mar’
Pedro Gonçalves, ‘I will not stay’
Carolina Deslandes, ‘In a few words’
NEEV, ‘Dancing in the Stars’
These songs are added to the most voted songs in the first round: “Na deep saudade” (song composed by Hélder Moutinho and performed by Valéria), “Saudade” (Karetus / Karetus and Romeu Bairos) “Love is on my side” (Tatanka / The Black Mamba) “Dia Lindo” (Fábia Maia) and “Contramão” (Filipe Melo / Sara Afonso).
In the two semifinals, the weight of the votes was distributed among the spectators and a jury whose members – the singers Marta Carvalho, NBC, Paulo de Carvalho and Rita Guerra, the photographer Rita Carmo and the announcer Vanessa Augusto – were chosen by RTP.
At the end of March 6, the jury will vote for representatives from seven regions of mainland Portugal and islands. In the event of a tie, the jury’s choice prevails in the semifinals and the public’s in the final. The representative of Portugal will be chosen at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in May in the Netherlands.
