Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said the transition between US administrations from Donald Trump to Joe Biden is “hampering” the vaccine distribution process, reveals “Business Insider.”

Despite noting the already known differences between the two administrations, Bill Gates noted in an interview with “CNN” that Biden’s team is willing to work with experts. “The transition makes it difficult [o processo], but the new administration is willing to work with the current experts and not attack them, “said the Microsoft co-founder, referring to the various attacks by Trump that he has targeted epidemiologist Anthony Fauci.

Bill Gates was satisfied with the performance and care of Joe Biden in the face of the pandemic. “We are going to overcome this in a positive way,” he added, being “satisfied with the people and the priorities that President-elect Biden and his team have chosen to address the problem.”

In the same interview, the also co-founder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation praised the Joe Biden administration for “making clear plans” that seek to stop the spread of the pandemic in North America. The president, who will take place in the White House on January 20, has already announced that he will advise the use of a mask during the first 100 days of government, while he wants to vaccinate 100 million citizens during those days.

Last week, the Gates Foundation announced plans to invest $ 250 million (€ 205.6 million) to help “research, development, and equitable distribution” of tools to combat Covid-19, including testing, specific treatments and vaccines.

In total, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has invested $ 1.75 billion (1.44 billion euros) to help several countries fight the pandemic.

The tech mogul also praised Joe Biden for hiring Francis Collins, director of the National Institute of Health, and Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. For Gates, these are experts who are not afraid to admit when the fight is not going well or to deliver more difficult messages.
