The municipalities of Beja, Aljustrel and Ferreira do Alentejo will leave the list of high risk of transmission of Covid-19. The municipality of Cuba will remain on the list of municipalities at risk, to which Serpa joins.

The announcement was made on the afternoon of Saturday, November 21, by the Prime Minister, within the framework of the new measures for the next State of Emergency that will take place between November 24 and December 8.

Among the new measures, António Costa announced that the municipalities of Beja, Aljustrel and Ferreira do Alentejo comprise a list of 17 municipalities, nationwide, which will no longer be covered by the restrictive measures to which they were subject.

The decision is related to the fact that these municipalities have begun to register less than 240 cases per thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days.

However, António Costa stressed that it is essential that the inhabitants of these municipalities maintain all safety standards.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister began by saying that, despite the restrictions applied to high, very high and extremely high risk municipalities, the use of a mask is still mandatory not only on public roads, but also in the States United. work places.

On November 30 and December 7 (Monday before holidays) school activities are suspended, that is, there will be no classes. In addition, there will be a point of tolerance for the public administration and the Government launches the call to private entities to fire their workers in those two days.

Among the new measures, it is also worth mentioning the restrictions on movement between municipalities, throughout the country, between 11 p.m. on November 27 and 5 a.m. on December 2 and 11 p.m. on December 4 and 5 a.m. hours of December 9.

As for Serpa, the City Council reveals, through the municipality’s website, that “at this time, the measures that will be applied to the municipality and its inhabitants are not yet known”, so it expects “more specific information on the possible limitations to apply ”.

The Serpentiano municipality clarifies that “as soon as they have knowledge of the municipality, we will inform our citizens.”
