BCP and EDP group do not let PSI-20 go out of the red on the last day of 2020 – Bolsa

The national stock market closed the last session of 2020 with the PSI-20 showing a fall of 0.48% to 4,898.36 points. They are listed 14 in red against four in green.

The negative trend is agreed between the main markets in Europe, at a time when, although the hope of economic recovery helped lift the markets, the Covid-19 continues to shake them. Despite the advances in vaccination against this disease, the pandemic continues to cause fatalities – which already exceed 1.8 million – and surprises in more and more cities with the new strain.

For Lisbon, the BCP bank stood out in the red, with a fall of 1.52% to 12.32 cents, a trend that was reinforced by the fall of 0.87% to 22.8 euros for EDP Renováveis And 0.85% for EDP’s 5.16 euros.

Paper mills also contributed to falls of more than 0.5%. Altri was the biggest loser of the three, falling 0.96% to 5.16 euros, Semapa lost 0.77% to 9 euros and Navigator fell 0.72% to 2.50 euros.

Contrary to the negative behavior of the index, only one heavyweight, Galp, which rises 0.21% to 2.37 euros, in a negative day in the oil markets. The barrel depreciates more than 1% in both London and New York, being affected by the pessimism of the stock market. Finally, Corticeira Amorim stood out in green, which closed with a revaluation of 4.13% to 11.60 euros.
