The red notice for the eight districts will be in effect between 12:00 and 18:00 today. It corresponds to a climatic situation of extreme risk. In this situation, IPMA recommends that people keep up to date with the evolution of weather conditions and follow the Civil Protection guidelines.

Continental Portugal is under the effect of the Barbara depression, which is leading to heavy rainfall, increased wind intensity with gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour and up to 130 kilometers per hour in the highlands and agitation of the sea, especially on the coast of the region. south.

In Setúbal, a scaffold fell on Luisa Todi Avenue due to the strong wind. The structure, which was being used in the construction of an unoccupied building, caused traffic problems on the main artery of the city.

On Monday there was a lot of work for Civil Protection, as Commander Paulo Santos, of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, told Antena 1. Authorities had to respond to 510 incidents within 24 hours.

During this morning, fifteen events were registered throughout the country, as a consequence of the Barbara depression, which affects Portuguese territory.
