A source from the National Civil Protection Authority explained that the Viseu district has been the most affected by bad weather and warned that the special alert status due to the passage of Alex’s depression will remain in effect until 8 pm.

According to Civil Protection, there will be a decrease in rainfall in the next few hours, the most “severe” meteorological factors being the agitation of the sea -which will be felt until Saturday- and the strong wind, especially in the highlands that must reach between 90 and 110 kilometers, particularly in the Serra da Estrela.

The coast will be affected by strong winds that can reach 70 kilometers per hour.
