Amaro Antunes kept the yellow jersey and the advantage for his opponents after the second sprint final, in Torres Vedras

The arrival at Torres Vedras was the second discussed in a sprint in the Volta a Portugal peloton, with Daniel McLay, from Arkéa-Samsic, repeating the triumph of the previous day, after 155 kilometers from Caldas da Rainha.

Amaro Antunes (W52-FC Porto) kept the yellow jersey, with the same advantage of 13 seconds over Frederico Figueiredo (Tuna General-Tavira-Maria Nova Hotel) and 1m13s over his colleague Gustavo Veloso, also from W52-FC Porto.

The sixth stage of the Tour has been the quietest part of the race, either because of the flat route and the good roads or because of the tranquility provided by a path that is formed only 11 kilometers away, with Willem Smit (Burgos- BH), Oier Lazkano (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) and Emanuel Duarte (LA Alumínios-LA Sport).

As none of the three affected the leadership of W52-FC Porto, the Blue and White team let the breakaway advantage grow to 4m10s, ending up with the French team Arkéa-Samsic taking over the chase, shortly after the race of 60 km. already thinking about the sprint, with the help of Nippo Delko Provence. Miranda-Mortágua, relying on Leangel Linarez, also joined the Frenchman in the final stage of the stage, canceling the flight seven kilometers from the finish.

In the last kilometers, W52-FC Porto has led again, to avoid problems for Amaro Antunes and Gustavo Veloso – the stage was still marked by some crashes -, who rolled to the finish line among the top positions.

In the final acceleration, McLay overtook Riccardo Minali (Nippo Provence) and Leangel Linarez (Miranda-Mortágua), thanks to an excellent launch from his team.
