The case diagnosed on the island of São Miguel corresponds to a 31-year-old male, resident in the Region, from an air connection with the Portuguese peninsula, who obtained a positive result in the SARS-CoV-2 screening test performed upon arrival.

The cases diagnosed on Terceira Island and Flores Island refer to male individuals, aged 21 and 59, respectively, not residents of the Region, also from an air connection with the Portuguese peninsula, who performed a test prior to boarding. with a negative result and obtained a positive result in the test carried out from the sixth day.

The recoveries registered on the island of São Miguel correspond to three men, between 18 and 38 years old, and one woman, 25 years old, bringing the number of cases recovered in the Region to 198.

Thus, so far, 315 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease Covid-19, have been detected in the Region, with 66 currently active positive cases, of which 37 on the island from São Miguel, 11 on Terceira Island, five on Graciosa Island, five on Pico Island, four on Faial Island, one on São Jorge Island, two on Santa María Island and one on Flores Island.
