Azores with a new positive case in São Miguel and a recovery

The Regional Health Authority reports that, as a result of the 1,287 analyzes carried out in the two reference laboratories of the Region in the last 24 hours, a positive case of Covid-19 was diagnosed on the island of São Miguel and a recovery was recorded.

The diagnosed case refers to a 24-year-old man, who arrived in the Region on September 3 from the continental territory, having obtained a positive detection test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus upon arrival.

The case presents a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for the confirmed case, the tests and surveillance of the close contacts have already been attended by the Municipal Health Office.

Register a case recovered on the island of São Miguel, from a 22-year-old woman, bringing the number of recovered cases of the Covid-19 disease in the Region to 159.

To date, 228 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the Covid-19 disease, have been detected in the Region, and there are currently 29 active positive cases, 25 on the island of São Miguel, three in the island of Terceira and one on the island of Pico.
