Azores with 31 new positive cases and 18 active transmission chains

Within the transmission chain related to an entertainment establishment in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, a positive case was detected, referring to an 18-year-old man.

In the context of the epidemiological investigation of a chain of transmission with a center in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, seven female individuals, aged between 7 and 87 years, and two male individuals, between 15 and 20 years old, were diagnosed.

During the epidemiological investigation of another chain of transmission on the island of São Miguel, an 8-year-old girl was diagnosed.

In the context of a chain of transmission reported on November 18, a 51-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were diagnosed.

Two new transmission chains were also detected, with two male individuals, 62 and 74 years old, diagnosed close to the positive cases previously reported.

Also on the island of São Miguel, three female individuals, aged between 21 and 42 years, and four males, aged between 27 and 54 years, were diagnosed, cases in epidemiological investigation.

On the island of Terceira, in the context of a chain of transmission centered in the municipality of Praia da Vitória and reported on November 17, a 57-year-old man was diagnosed.

In the context of another chain of transmission, also centered in the Praia da Vitória municipality and reported on November 17, three positive cases were detected, referring to a 59-year-old female and two 30-year-old male individuals. 60 years.

Within the chain of transmission associated with a restaurant in the São Mateus parish, two positive cases were detected, referring to a 9-month-old baby and a 62-year-old man.

On the island of Terceira, a 70-year-old woman was also diagnosed, close contact with a positive case reported on Thursday, installing a new chain of transmission.

Seven recoveries in the last 24 hours

On the island of São Miguel, seven recoveries were registered, corresponding to four female individuals, aged between 8 and 43 years, and three male individuals, aged between 21 and 62 years, increasing by 379 the total number of cases recovered in the Region.

18 active drive chains

The Region now has 18 active transmission chains, 11 on the island of São Miguel, five on the island of Terceira, one shared between the island of São Miguel and the island of São Jorge, and one on the island of São Jorge.

13 hospitalizations

Regarding hospitalizations, the Azores have a total of 13, of which 9 in the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel island, and four in the Hospital of Santo Espírito in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira island.

So far, 735 cases of infection by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been detected in the Region, with 379 cases recovered and 263 active positive cases at present, of which 205 on the island of São Miguel, 51 in the island of Terceira, three on the island.
