Azores registers three new positive cases in São Miguel in the last 24 hours

According to a note, one of the diagnosed cases refers to a 17-year-old female person, not a resident of the Azores, who landed in the Region from an air connection with the mainland, having obtained a positive result for Covid-19 in the test carried out on arrival.

The other two cases correspond to males, 30 and 37 years old, one of whom is not a resident in the Region and comes from an air connection with the American continent and the other is a resident in the Region and from a connection with the Portuguese mainland.

Both had a negative SARS-CoV-2 virus test upon arrival and a positive result after the sixth day.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for confirmed cases, tests and surveillance of close contacts have already been attended by the Municipal Delegation of Health.

To register an exit from the Region to the American continent, without authorization from the authorities, of a 54-year-old man, diagnosed with Covid-19 disease on August 24, in São Miguel, having already taken steps, through the Delegation of Health of the Concelhia, the procedures of articulation with the authorities and the judicial processes.

Thus, so far 239 cases of infection by the new coronavirus have been detected in the Region, with 36 positive cases currently active, 29 of which on the island of
São Miguel, six on Terceira Island and one on Pico Island.
