Another case diagnosed on the island of São Miguel refers to a 36-year-old man, close contact with a high risk of a positive case identified on board an aircraft, who, despite the negative evidence obtained from his identification as close contact, After completing the 14-day period of prophylactic isolation, he was diagnosed with Covid-19 through a screening test conducted at the end of that isolation period.

The three remaining cases diagnosed on the island of São Miguel refer to two males, ages 3 and 37, and a female, 44 years old.

The 37-year-old man and the 44-year-old woman are close contacts at high risk, in the workplace, of a previously diagnosed positive case.

The latter is the parent of the 3-year-old child, who has been attending a kindergarten and ATL since September 15, so the Municipal Health Authority determined the prophylactic isolation of children belonging to the same classes to deepen the investigation epidemiological and containment of the possible spread and spread of the virus.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for the confirmed case, tests and surveillance of close contacts, as well as all those inherent to the deepening of the epidemiological investigation, have already been carried out by the Health Delegations of Concelhias.

Register a case of recovery of a man, aged 30, on the island of São Miguel, thus increasing the number of cases recovered in the Region to 174.

Thus, so far, 273 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19 disease, have been detected in the Region, with 52 positive cases currently active, 40 of which on the island from São Miguel, eight on Terceira Island, three on Pico Island and one on Graciosa Island.

With the diagnosed cases and after an epidemiological investigation carried out to date, five local transmission chains have been identified on the island of São Miguel, involving a total of 19 active positive cases.
