Azores registers 69 new cases and six new chains in the last 24 hours

Of the 69 positive cases diagnosed in São Miguel, 38 are related to previously identified transmission chains; Five still to be determined, one of the cases refers to a resident with a travel history and screening analysis on the sixth day and 25 are the result of six new transmission chains determined in the last 24 hours, three in Vila Franca do Campo ( one with 12 elements, one with nine elements and the other with one element), two transmission chains in Ribeira Grande (with one element each) and a transmission chain in Ponta Delgada with one element.

There is no record of cases recovered in the last 24 hours.

77 active drivetrains

There are 77 active transmission chains, 66 on the island of São Miguel (six in the last 24 hours), nine on the island of Terceira, one in São Jorge and one in Faial.

To date, 83 transmission chains have been extinguished.

21 hospitalizations

There are 21 people hospitalized, 19 on the island of São Miguel, at the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada (two of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit) and two people on the island of Terceira, at the Hospital de Santo Espírito in Angra do Heroísmo (both in the Intensive Care Unit).

482 active positive cases

There are currently 482 active positive cases in the Region, 429 in São Miguel, 35 in Terceira, one in Pico, five in São Jorge, two in Flores and 10 in Faial.

To date, 2,127 cases of infection with the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19 disease, have been detected, with 22 deaths and 1,529 recoveries.
