Azores registers 19 new positive cases

According to a note from the Regional Health Authority (ARS), on the island of São Miguel and in the context of the transmission chains previously identified, eight positive cases were diagnosed, concerning five women, between five and 33 years old. years, and three men, between 16 and 33 years old.

Two women, aged 29 and 58, were also diagnosed on the island of São Miguel, both in epidemiological research.

A new chain of transmission was detected in Ponta Delgada, having been diagnosed with a 69-year-old woman, close contact with a high risk of a previously diagnosed positive case.

On Terceira Island and in the context of the previously identified transmission chains, four female individuals, aged between seven and 62 years, and two male individuals, between 34 and 63 years old, were diagnosed.

Regarding the cases diagnosed in the islands of Santa María and Flores, these are two men, 31 and 32 years old respectively, non-residents, with a history of air connection with the outside of the Region, who after the detection test to the SARS-CoV-2 virus performed after the sixth day, he obtained a positive result for Covid-19.

42 recoveries in the last 24 hours

42 recoveries were registered in the Region in the last 24 hours, of which 40 in the island of São Miguel, one in the island of Terceira and one in the island of Faial, bringing the total number of cases recovered in the Region to 436 .

25 active drive chains

The Region has 14 extinct transmission chains and 25 active transmission chains, 18 on the island of São Miguel, five on the island of Terceira, one shared between the island of São Miguel and the island of São Jorge and one on the island of São Jorge. .

So far, 835 cases of infection by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been detected in the Region, with 436 cases recovered and 305 active positive cases currently, of which one on the island of Santa María, 228 in São Miguel Island, 71 on Terceira Island, two on São Jorge Island, two on Faial Island and one on Flores Island.

Regarding hospitalizations, there are nine people admitted to the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada and four at the Hospital de Santo Espírito in Angra do Heroísmo.

2,533 people are under active surveillance.
