Aveiro: PSP inspection detected 42 people violating state calamity rules

42 people were identified during a prevention and inspection operation of the Aveiro PSP command, in the context of a calamity caused by the Covid-19 disease pandemic.

The road inspection, the establishments and others took place in Aveiro, S. João da Madeira and Espinho last 23 and 24, Friday and Saturday.

Of the 42 people identified, 32 were related to failures in the mandatory use of a mask in commercial establishments and 10 to the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads.

The PSP also charged five administrative offenses (four for non-compliance with hours in establishments and one for lack of a surveillance card).

Of the 215 vehicles inspected, six administrative offenses were committed (two for driving a vehicle, with blood alcohol levels higher than those allowed by law, three for lack of mandatory periodic inspection and one for parking on the sidewalk.

PSP reports on Monday’s balance of eight arrests in Aveiro, São João da Madeira, Ovar and Santa Maria da Feira.

Five drivers reported blood alcohol levels above those allowed by law and two people were not legally qualified to drive.

Finally, a knife was seized from a 30-year-old man in the context of a case of domestic violence.
