The incidence of covid-19 in Portuguese territory continues to decline, while the rate of transmissibility of the disease has increased slightly in recent days, according to the General Directorate of Health Portugal began deflation last Monday.
The country remains in the green zone of the risk matrix. The squares of the matrix that we put at the beginning of this article dictate the advance (or retreat) of the different phases of deflation and combine the incidence of the virus (the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants) with the transmissibility index, Rt (cases of infection that give rise to a person with covid-19). If the indicators remain in the green area, deflation can continue to advance, but if the country reaches the yellow or red zone, deflation can be stopped or reversed.
The transmissibility index (Rt) is set at 0.86, but if only the continental territory is considered, this indicator drops to 0.84. The incidence of 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants also follows this trend: the national average is 87.2 new cases, with the continent registering 75.7 new infections.
Comparing these data, it is concluded that the national Rt had a slight increase from 0.83 to 0.86 between last Sunday and this Thursday. On the contrary, the incidence of the disease was reduced from 96 cases to 87.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
