Amadora PSP identifies more than 400 people and closes illegal nightclub

The Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis), through the Amadora Police Division, announced this Saturday that it had identified more than 400 people and closed an illegal nightclub, as part of an operation to control concentrations against covid-19.

In a press release, Cometlis reported that, at the end of Friday, it launched a “large-scale operation in Bairro Alto da Cova da Moura and Quinta da Lage, with the aim of restoring the feeling of security in the communities of both the population agglomerations of the municipality of Amadora “, in the district of Lisbon.

This operation began at 7 p.m. in Bairro Alto and lasted until 10 p.m., resulting in the identification of some 300 people, about 80 light vehicles, two establishments that operated after 10 p.m. were inspected and closed. 8 pm and two arrest warrants were executed.

Between 00.30 and 3.00 in the morning of this Saturday, “as a result of a collection of information that pointed to the illegal exercise of a restaurant and drink establishment, transformed into a nightclub in Quinta da Lage, its closure was promoted”, he says Cometlis.

According to the statement, the PSP found that the DJ was working in the establishment within the neighborhood, in a space of about 50 square meters and from where 112 citizens were taken to identify themselves.

“These identifications resulted in the execution of an arrest warrant in the context of a process of aggravated intrafamily violence, two citizens identified for possession of drugs and a report with the seizure of knives and drugs found inside the space,” it reads in the note.
