The Brazilian athlete fell inanimate on the field of play, in the 27th minute of the match with Almeirim, of the Portuguese Championship.
In a statement, Alverca reports that Alex Apolinário is stabilized. The next few hours will be essential to assess the recovery.
The Ribatejo emblem states that the club’s medical team immediately used the defibrillator that is present in all training sessions and matches.
The statement also appreciates the response of the firefighters who provided assistance later, as well as the União de Almeirim staff, who also provided assistance.

FC Alverca Futebol SAD reports that athlete Alex Apolinário apparently suffered, on the field of play, in the 27th minute of the match against UFC Almeirim, a cardiorespiratory arrest.
The athlete was immediately treated by health professionals from FC Alverca Futebol SAD, duly trained, with a defibrillator, who is always present at the team’s games and training sessions.

Immediately after the prayer wheel held by all those present, in the center of the field of our stadium, Alex Apolinário managed to stabilize his situation and was transferred, at the discretion of the lifeguards, to the Vila Franca de Xira Hospital to continue his recovery .
