Portugal registers, this Thursday, 6,994 more infected by covid-19, a new daily maximum of cases, on the day in which it adds 69 more deaths to the list of victims, which now stands at 3,701. North also breaks a record.
After being close to six thousand cases a day on Wednesday, Portugal today registered 6,994 cases of covid-19, raising the total number of infections to 243,009, according to the epidemiological bulletin on Thursday. Today’s value is the highest since the beginning of the pandemic. It is recalled that the bulletin of November 4 presented 7497 new cases, but the number at that time was explained by a “delay in the laboratory report”, corresponding to an accumulation of positive tests from previous days.
Looking at the regions in isolation, the North, now with 4,415 more infections (63% of today’s total), also has the worst record since March, up from 4154 cases last Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the region to 124,572. Four victims were under 59 years old

Calculations made, subtracting the number of deaths and recoveries from the total number of infected, there are now 81,384 active patients, 2703 more than yesterday.
