The Algarve maintains the cases of Covid-19 and the Alentejo registers three more recently infected, according toIn today’s epidemiological bulletin, May 9, from the Directorate General of Health (DGS). Across the country, there are 27,406 confirmed cases, in cumulative numbers since the start of the pandemic, and 1,126 deaths (plus 12). The amount recovered at 2499.
In total, the Algarve now has the same 345 cases as yesterday. The Alentejo, in turn, has 235 infected.
Although the Algarve has no more cases, in the data by municipality, DGS indicates that there is one more infected in Albufeira, increasing from 71 to 72.
This agreement in the cases is often related to the issue of the official addresses of residence of the people included in the National System of Epidemiological Surveillance (SINAVE).
As for the number of deaths, it has not changed in any of the southern regions, leaving 13 in the Algarve and only one in the Alentejo.
As for the recovered, the number rose again, but slightly less compared to the past few days. There are now 2499 people who have recovered (77 more).
Regarding the number of confirmed cases, it increased from 27,268 to 27,406 (plus 138). However, this is a growth below what has been verified in the last days.
By region, this is the distribution of the number of infected people, in accumulated numbers since the start of the pandemic: North (15,854, plus 45), Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (7166, plus 73), Center (3564, plus 17) , Algarve (345, without new cases), Alentejo (235, plus 3), Azores (135, without new cases) and Madeira (90, without new cases).
Today’s newsletter also reports that there are 815 people hospitalized (27 fewer than yesterday), 120 of whom are in intensive care (7 fewer).
Currently, there are 2955 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 26,667 are contacts under the supervision of the health authorities.
Since January 1, the total number of suspected cases has been 272,443, but 242,082 of these have not been confirmed.
