The number of Covid-19 cases increased to 351 in the Algarve, one more than yesterday, and remains the same in Alentejo (238), according to today’s epidemiological bulletin, May 13, from the Directorate General of Health. (DGS). Across the country, there are 28,132 confirmed cases, in cumulative numbers since the pandemic began, and 1,175 deaths, 12 more than yesterday. Those recovered rose to 3182.
Despite this new case in the Algarve, when analyzing municipal DGS data, there are no changes in the number of people infected in the municipality. As for the number of deaths in the region, they remain at 14.
In Alentejo, there is no change compared to yesterday: there are still 238 cases and only one death.
Regarding recoveries across the country, the number increased by 169, with 3,182 people now recovering from Covid-19 in Portugal.
On the other hand, the total number of deaths is now 1175, 12 more than yesterday. The new deaths occurred in the North (7 more), Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (3 more) and Center (2 more).
As for the number of confirmed cases, it increased from 27,913 to 28,132 (plus 219).
By region, this is the distribution of the number of infected people, in accumulated numbers since the beginning of the pandemic: North (16,112, plus 59), Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (7647, plus 153), Center (3559, plus 6) , Algarve (351, plus 1), Alentejo (238, without new cases), Azores (135, without new cases) and Madeira (90, without new cases).
Today’s bulletin also reports that 692 people are hospitalized (minus 17), 103 of whom are in intensive care (minus 10).
Currently, there are 2,686 citizens awaiting laboratory results, while another 26,278 are contacts under the supervision of the health authorities.
Since January 1, the total number of suspected cases has been 282,961, but 252,143 of these have not been confirmed.
