Algarve has 27 more cases

The Algarve has 27 more cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Monday, October 12, which has just been published.

The number of accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic in the Algarve region is now 2001.

In Alentejo, 15 more cases are reported today, in a cumulative total of 1,645.

At the national level, DGS registers 1,249 infected people. Once again the barrier of 1000 daily cases was exceeded.

At the level of recovered, there are now 311 more, bringing the accumulated total since the start of the pandemic to 53,498. Active cases also increased, to 32,321 (plus 924).

As for the deaths, there were 14 more since yesterday: 8 in the North and 6 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo.

Furthermore, it is in the northern region where the most worrying situation remains, in terms of new cases. Today, another 602 cases have been reported in this region, bringing the cumulative total to 32,947.

Even so, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo are the most affected region, in accumulated numbers, which today reach 43,646 (plus 505).

They are followed by Centro (7082, plus 87), Algarve (2001, plus 27), Alentejo (1645, plus 15), Azores (298, plus 3) and Madeira (294, plus 10).

The number of people hospitalized rose again to 877 (plus 34). Of these, 128 are in intensive care (plus 4).

Currently, there are 48,844 contacts under surveillance, 431 more than yesterday.
