The Viseu region registered at least 40 new cases of Covid-19 in the last hours.

This Wednesday (November 4), the day the new restrictive measures came into effect in several high-risk counties in the country (including seven in the district), another fatality was known in Lamego, a municipality where two more infected were also registered. . The county now has 41 active cases and seven deaths.

Mangualde reported five more infected by Covid-19. The City Council says there are currently 65 active cases.

Tondela had a new case of infection, with 111 active infections.

Also this afternoon, the municipal Civil Protection released the latest weekly Covid-19 survey in the municipality of Viseu. According to the latest data, there was a drop in the number of new cases for 62 infected in the last week.

On the contrary, the number of patients admitted to the Viseu Hospital increased, from 38, five of whom were in intensive care.

Oliveira de Frades had seven more cases and the municipality of Lafões began to accumulate 122 active infections.

Castro Daire reported four more infected people, with a total of 45 active cases.

Tarouca had three new positive cases and registered six active infections. São Pedro do Sul, meanwhile, registered two more cases, increasing to 29 active cases.

Another case was also investigated in Penedono (two active cases), São João da Pesqueira (11 active cases) and Vouzela (54 accumulated cases).

In total, the Viseu region has registered a total of 2,813 infected since March, as well as 68 deaths and 1,319 recovered.

This Wednesday was marked by the highest record ever recorded for new cases and deaths in Portugal: 7,497 more infected and 59 deaths in the last 24 hours. A registry of recently infected people explained, according to health authorities, the delay in laboratory reports in the North.
