The past few days have not been easy for Xiaomi. After being accused of collecting and storing user data, the Chinese company tried to justify its actions and ensure that this data is transmitted securely.
For many, the problem is not in the way it is transmitted, but in the collection itself. To ensure greater privacy, Xiaomi has now brought an update. Your browser already has an option to prevent this data collection.
Xiaomi already has a solution to your problems
The accusation made against Xiaomi was undoubtedly important. According to what a security analyst revealed, the company was collecting user data, especially what it was doing in the browser. It was much worse, even anonymous mode was spied on.
Of course, Xiaomi has refuted the allegations, revealing that this collection exists, but the data is transmitted anonymously and securely. Its servers receive the information and only from then on was it accessed and processed.
Mint browser can now be used in anonymous mode
Since the entire data collection process was done in Xiaomi's browser, Xiaomi has decided to take another step to resolve this issue. To this end, it updated Mint Browser and Mint Browser Pro, with new security options.
Now, and in the versions that are available for update, there is a new option that allows to prevent data from being collected and sent to Xiaomi. This option is only available for incognito mode.
Privacy is thus restored ... partially
Xiaomi has already sent the new versions of Mint Browser and Mint Browser Pro to the Play Store, so they can already be updated. Still, and if necessary, they can be obtained from APKMirror, for Mint Browser and Mi Browser Pro.
Although it is not the perfect solution, it is an important step that Xiaomi takes. Privacy continues to be questioned as information continues to be collected and sent to the Chinese brand.
