Five units and another 85 reference points will be available on Monday (4) to vaccinate pregnant and postpartum women (women who have given birth in the last 45 days), people with chronic diseases, professionals from the security and rescue forces, dock workers, truckers, drivers and collectors of public transport, the elderly and health workers. Service hours have been extended and will be from 8 a.m. at 5 p.m.

The discs are installed in the Fonte Nova Arena (Dique do Tororó), in the 5th Clementino Fraga Health Center (Barris), on the two campuses of the Bahiana School of Medicine (Cabula and Brotas) and also in the Atakadão suburb Atakarejo (Fazenda Coutos).

To date, 433,000 people have been vaccinated against influenza in Salvador. According to the Deputy Coordinator of Control of Immunopreventable Diseases, Doiane Lemos, although the flu vaccine does not protect against the new coronavirus, immunization is a way to protect the most vulnerable against respiratory diseases, reducing the impact on the health system during this pandemic period. .
