The UK records 621 more deaths and exceeds 28,000 deaths

The UK has recorded 621 additional deaths from covid-19 in the past 24 hours, and has therefore reached 28,131 victims since the start of the pandemic, Housing Minister Robert Jenrick said today.

In a press conference, the minister also revealed that 4,806 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus were diagnosed in the country, thus increasing the accumulated total to 182,260.

The data presented also represents a significant decrease compared to Friday, the day 739 deaths and 6,201 cases were recorded.

With these figures, the United Kingdom is already the third country with the most deaths, behind the United States (more than 65 thousand) and Italy (28,236), being the fourth in terms of infection cases, after the United States (more 1, Millions), Spain (more than 216 thousand) and Italy (more than 207 thousand).

Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already claimed nearly 239,000 deaths and infected more than 3.3 million people in 195 countries and territories. More than a million patients were considered cured.
