The Regional Health Directorate (DRS) clarifies that the data reported today, March 2, in the report on the epidemiological situation in Portugal, referring to the Region, do not agree with the daily count carried out in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

“Reliable figures are the data that the Regional Health Directorate reports on a daily basis, in a clear, safe and transparent way,” he underlines.

It also recalls that “the cases reported by the DRS refer to resident citizens, with fiscal residence, in Madeira and tourists diagnosed with covid-19 identified in the Region.”

He also recalls that the epidemiological report covid-19, released by the DRS at the end of yesterday, reported 38 new cases of infection by SARS-CoV-2, counting 7,276 confirmed cases of covid-19 and maintaining the number of 64 deaths associated with the disease.

“The data reported by the DGS, today, erroneously revealed 140 new cases of covid-19 in the Region, for a total of 6,614 and 61 deaths from covid-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira,” he warns.
