A 20-year-old young man suffered serious injuries after an accident with an agricultural machine, early in the afternoon of this Tuesday, in Cabeceiras de Basto.
According to O MINHO, the victim was doing agricultural work when he tried to do some kind of maintenance on a milling machine that was attached to the tractor.
According to Commander Duarte Ribeiro, from the Cabeceirense Fire Department, the victim’s leg got stuck in the bur and ended up suffering “very serious” injuries, with several injuries and open fractures.
For the location, in Santa Senhorinha, in the parish of Basto, the Cabeceirense Firefighters mobilized with eight operations and three vehicles, the Red Cross of Arco de Baúlhe, with two operations and one vehicle, the SIV of Fafe and VMER.
The victim will have to be evacuated by helicopter due to the severity of the injuries and the urgency of a surgical intervention, and it is still unknown whether he will be transported to Braga or Porto.
