Maria Davidachwili and Mariana Fonseca began to be tried this Wednesday, in the Portimão Court. The security guard and the nurse are accused of killing and dismembering Diogo Gonçalves, a 21-year-old, with the aim of obtaining the compensation that the young man had received.
Mariana Fonseca, 24, wanted to make statements without the presence of Maria Davidachwili, saying that “she does not feel comfortable.” The former nurse at the Hospital de Lagos apologized for “forgiveness for all the acts” and says she is “moved by emotion.” “I want to apologize for all the acts. If I could have returned, I would have done many different things. I was not thinking rightly. I was moved by emotion. I am not guilty of death,” he said. In the court.
Mariana also revealed that she was unaware of the 70,000 euros that Diogo had received in compensation for the death of his mother and denied that she and his ex-girlfriend, María, had devised a plan to murder the young man. “There was no plan,” he stressed.
