The defendants, a nurse and a security guard, are charged by the Public Ministry (MP) with the crimes of qualified homicide, desecration of the corpse, two crimes of illegitimate access, one of computer fraud, simple theft and use of a vehicle.

According to the indictment, the women took Diogo Gonçalves, 21, to the house of one of them, where they held him hostage with the purpose of extorting money from you, as he had received 70 thousand euros in compensation for the death of his mother, run over in the Albufeira area, in 2016.

According to the MP, the defendants, Mariana Fonseca, 24, nurse, and María Malveiro, 21, security, “went to the home of the victim, a computer engineer, located in the Silves area, where they gave him drugs in disguise to make it.” fall asleep and they will have squeezed his neck to death ”.

After having taken several valuables, including his cell phone, from his home, they took him “in his own car to the house of the accused, located in the Lagos area.”

On March 27, parts of the young man’s body were found in the Pego do Inferno area, in Tavira, and near the Beliche Fortress, in Sagres. A few days later, on April 2, the Judicial Police arrested the two women.

The MP indicated that, during those days, the defendants would have made withdrawals and payments with the victim’s debit card and mobile phone.

The nurse’s defense attorney requested the opening of the case, considering that the nurse had not participated in all phases of the crime.

However, the investigating judge decided to take the case to trial “as it was, considering that the defendant’s first testimony was more consistent,” the lawyer told Lusa at the time.

The start of the trial is scheduled for this Wednesday morning at the Portimão Court, in the Faro district.
